Today is the day.

Today is the day. If I survive today, I will now and forever more believe in miracles! I’ve arrived at the office super early today to prepare for three main events. You read that correctly, today I am faced with seeing through on all plans for three functions. One is an 80th Birthday party and the other two weddings. The weddings are what I am here to talk about. I’ve noted in the past about there being times that I am delighted to be rid of some couples… Well, today marks two of them! The first ceremony is scheduled for noon and the couple has decided for the ceremony to take place indoors. At least, I hope they had a little something to do with planning this wedding. I have not spoken to the actual couple once! Instead, I am stuck with enduring visit after visit from the bride’s parents who like to drop in unannounced at their own will. The dad (who I have later found out is not even her real dad, her real dad I like. He can call anytime!) is so over bearing even the mom just sits in my office soft spoken, hardly uttering her opinion at all. Her quiet demeanor actually drives me a little nuts as well; takes her quite the amount of time to get full sentences out. “So… Um… well, they. They still need… *sigh* they still need to um… find a.. uh, uh florist”. Seriously woman! SPIT IT OUT ALREADY! Dad is always trying to talk me down on the money end. Really, I wish people would stop doing that. This is not a car lot! You can not wheel and deal with me. If the prices do not work for you, maybe this is not the venue you should be booking for your special day. Perhaps there is a community center near by that will allow you to bring in your own items as opposed to the preparation of an award winning chef. (Side note: he’s not actually “award-winning” at all but it’s in the packet so as far as they know…) No offence to my community center people, I’ve been to some beautiful weddings at them. The point is, everybody has the pricing before they book. If you couldn’t afford it then maybe that wasn’t the best idea. (A rule of thumb in which I follow to the T. I could too afford those new shoes! Who needs power at home… there are mirrors and hair dryers at work. I’m perfectly fine). I digress.
