Oops, my bad.
Work starts today promptly at 11am. Unfortunately for me, last night ended around 3am so I am less than eager to get this day going. Morning weather update: 87 degrees (which according to weather.com, feels like 96) with scattered thunderstorms and a 40% chance of rain. My head is literally pounding from last nights festivities but the day must go on. Today’s wedding should be pretty uneventful. This is again another wedding where I have only dealt with the bride’s mother. I met the couple last night at rehearsal and they are super young and seem very sweet. My guess would be somewhere in the 18 years of age range. At what age does 18 become super young to you? I suppose that would be the age I am at! Today they have opted again to have their ceremony inside their ballroom. Mom was not too thrilled about the Florida heat and I am delighted there will be no sand in my shoes today. I do feel a little bad about something. The mom came in yesterday to let me know they had all the necessary people gathered so we can start rehearsal. Before heading out the door with her I made a quick comment about needing to put my beach shoes on. She was like “Beach!? But we’re doing it inside”. And then I was like, Oops! So we head to the ballroom and go through the rehearsal: as their officiate is running over the details of the service I stand by and chat with the MOB (mother of the bride). With a slightly sour look on her face she asks me about the number of weddings we have already had just since they’ve checked into the hotel. It is a little hard sometimes to make people feel they are special when they see 5 other weddings the same day as yours! (Slight exaggeration for dramatic effect.) I then ask her where they are going for dinner… she tells me in our restaurant, which I apparently planned for them. Strike two for me! Oops again.
